Ziv Medical Center serves the population of Northern Israel. During the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War the hospital received both civilian and military casualties. The graph below is the “percent change in the number of surgical procedures being performed in the operating room from 12th July to 14th August by each surgical specialty when comparing 2005 (the year before the war) to 2006 (during the war).”

The graph shows a clear increased need for orthopedic procedures during armed conflict.
